Minna Elif Wendin & Josephine Posch
Presentation – Perception of phrases (Presentation – Förnimmelser av Fraser)
Sculpture and choreography meet in the movement performance Presentation – Förnimmelser av Fraser, an research process and method collaboration between choreographer Minna Elif Wendin and sculptor Josephine Posch. The project was initiated by the curators Cecilia Suhaid Gustafsson and Sarah Schmidt – GoldDigger Productions in the project: ReCreation.
The starting point for the movement work is Wendins and Poschs tactile non-text-based research processes within their respective fields where the physical performance is central to working together to work out a joint movement and dialogue-based research method. During the spring and summer of 2014 developed Posch and Wendin parallel movement phrases and sculptures by alternating meetings to formulate the work in symbiosis. The movement performance presented at Atalante is part of this research method and therefore under development.
In 2014 the curators, Cecilia Suhaid Gustafsson and Sarah Schmidt, invited a number of professional choreographers and artists to collaborate and investigates the limits and methods of their artistry in the project ReCreation.
It’s nothing ”new” that choreographers working with artists, but in this case, collaboration and process is performed parallel. No one working on behalf of the other, both have a common part of the artistic process. The choreographers and artists completely control over their own process.
GoldDigger Productions want to create more plattforms for a development in which the artistic expressions and practices into a process mixed. A forum for experimentation and exploration of boundaries and where the end product is not the most important, is the process.
