Carmen Olsson is a unique choreographer and dancer. With her Nordic/Spanish heritage she has developed a personal style of Butoh – Mibudo. In the 1990s, Carmen studied butoh in Japan. This and her lastest meeting with the Japanese performing arts No and Kyogen, have inspired her search for her own dance language. Since 1993, she has worked with Body Weather, which is a dance performance training, developed in Japan by Butoh dancer Min Tanaka and his dance group Mai-Juku.
Carmen has made numerous solo choreographies for various venues and situations. Her interest in art and architecture has led to several partnerships with artists from other disciplines, such as Arne Isacsson, visual artist and HN Koda, a sculptor.
